Shopify website design Melbourne

E-commerce website design for Melbourne makers, labels and specialty retailers

Melbourne customers notice design and care about where things come from. We build Shopify stores that let independent brands tell that story properly while keeping the path to purchase short.

Cord and Clay

Cord and Clay is a fictional ceramics and homewares store we designed to show how maker stories, glaze variants and small batch availability can sit together without clutter. It is a demonstration, not a client project.

Why Melbourne is different

A market that rewards character

Melbourne has a deep culture of independent labels, ceramicists, roasters, bookshops and specialty food producers. Many started at markets or in small shopfronts and built loyal followings through word of mouth.

When those customers move online, they expect the store to feel like the brand they already know. Generic theme layouts tend to flatten that character. We design the store around the things that make you different: how products are made, who makes them, and why they are worth the price.

The practical side matters too. Small batch products sell out, variants change with each run, and wholesale or stockist enquiries arrive alongside retail orders. The store structure has to handle all of that without becoming hard to manage.

What we design for

Details that suit independent Melbourne brands

Maker and origin stories

Story sections on product and collection pages, so the craft is visible where the buying decision happens.

Small batch and restocks

Clear sold out states and back in stock messaging, using Shopify features or suitable apps you choose.

Stockists and wholesale

A stockist page or wholesale enquiry path, with complex trade pricing scoped separately if you need it.

Gifting

Gift cards, gift guides and bundles that help lift order value in busy periods.

Editorial content

A journal or blog template for recipes, care guides and behind the scenes posts where it helps.

Consistent visual system

Type, colour and photography rules that keep new products looking like they belong.

What the product numbers mean

The 25-product and 100-product limits refer only to products Launch North sets up or migrates during the build. They do not limit the number of products the Shopify store may contain.

Your Shopify store can hold as many products as your Shopify plan allows. You can add more yourself at any time, or we can set up extra straightforward products for an agreed price.

Paid directly to Shopify and other providers

  • Shopify subscription. The Shopify subscription is not included in Launch North build or care pricing and is paid directly by the client to Shopify.
  • Payment processing and transaction fees. Shopify payment processing and any applicable transaction fees are paid directly by the client.
  • Paid Shopify apps and third-party software. Paid Shopify apps, email platforms, review platforms and other third-party subscriptions are paid directly by the client.

Working remotely

How we work with Melbourne businesses from Brisbane

Launch North is based in Brisbane and does not have a Melbourne office. Projects run through the guided brief, scheduled video calls and a shared preview link you can open at your desk or on your phone.

Product information and photography are shared in a simple organised format. If your photos need work before launch, we will tell you early rather than build a store around images that undersell your products.
